Award-winning system integration built on strong partnerships, vast expertise and steadfast business philosophy. From humble beginnings, Philco Systems’ reputation for providing high-quality service and specialist skillsets has resulted in the client base expanding globally.
Philco Systems started its journey in 1992 as Philco Computing and Automation CC, the brainchild of Robert Phillips who started operations from the garage of his home. By 1997, the CC grew into Philco Systems (Pty) Ltd, with the objective of catering to the processing and automation needs of the mining, metals and mineral processing industries in the Richards Bay area of KwaZulu-Natal.
With over 84 permanent and 25 contracted employees, Philco boasts a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and specialists, forming a comprehensive system integrator (SI) capable of delivering tailored turnkey automation solutions. We cover every aspect, from conceptual design to commissioning, and operate with around 10 construction teams, allowing us to tackle medium-sized projects with ease.
Philco has been associated with Rockwell Automation through its various SI programmes since 1998 and is a Gold-level Rockwell certified Systems Integrator.
This close working relationship has helped Philco flourish, garnering a number of Rockwell awards over the years in addition to a Certificate of Excellent Performance from South32 and an Occupational Health and Safety Africa Award along the way.
We now also have extensive experience integrating SCADA platforms like Wonderware Intouch and GE Fanuc Cimplicity, along with ABB and Siemens VSDs, and maintain valuable partnerships with ABB SA and ABB Switzerland for aluminum smelter rectifiers and ABB robotics, while actively pursuing enrollment in the Siemens system integrator program and providing support for select Siemens products.
At Philco Systems, training is paramount for our employees and clients, ensuring proficiency in the latest technologies. Our enduring philosophy revolves around integrity, employee investment, sound engineering, and unwavering client support, forming the foundation of our long-lasting client relationships.
