Philco Systems requires an Automation Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in PLC systems design and PLC software development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing Design: Design of Network Architecture drawings, loop drawings etc
- PLC Software Development: Writing of PLC Programs
- HMI Design & Development: Development HMI/SCADA screens, dashboards, and operator interfaces.
- System Integration: Integration of PLCs, HMIs, Instruments, Drives and other Equipment.
- Testing & Commissioning: Doing thorough factory acceptance testing, debugging, and on-site commissioning.
- Documentation: Writing of functional specifications, operation manuals and training Manuals.
- Fault Finding: Attending to breakdowns and finding and fixing faults.
Desired Qualification Level
- Minimum: Bachelor of Engineering Technology or BSc in Engineering.
- Preferred: BSC in Electronic and Computer Engineering
Requirements
- Exceptional Marks in Matric Mathematics and Physics.
- Exceptional marks at University in the Programming and Mathematic modules.
- Competence in Microsoft Office especially MS Excel.
- Exceptional Abilities in Software Development and Programming.
- The ability to work in a development team environment.
- The ability to produce meticulous work of a high quality.
- A national driver’s license.
Desired Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in automation and industrial process control projects.
- PLC software development experience
- HMI / SCADA software development experience
- Experience in Mining and Metals industry is advantageous.
- Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs is preferred.
- Experience with Aveva InTouch, GE Digital Cimplicity, FactoryTalk View HMIs and Ignition is preferred.
- Experience with drives would be advantageous.
- Experience in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python and Visual Basic would be advantageous.
